To be a participant on Prolific, you must be over 18 years of age and create and verify an account. Read more about our verification practices here: How do I verify my account?

Please note we don't allow researchers to run studies with children as participants. If you come across a study recruiting children participants, please get in touch with our Support Team using the button at the bottom of this page.

Prolific is available for participants from most OECD countries, with the exceptions of Turkey, Lithuania, Colombia and Costa Rica where Prolific is not available.

Prolific is currently also available to participants in Croatia and South Africa. The full list of countries can be found below:

If you are from a non-OECD country, you can still participate if you live in an OECD country.
