If you experience an issue with a study, we ask that you first contact the researcher via the messaging system and/or Prolific support for resolution, rather than immediately reaching out to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or University. We can resolve most study-related issues and provide a mediation service to facilitate communication with researchers if you're unable to resolve the matter directly.

In some cases, you may wish to contact a researcher about a study submission.

To contact a researcher, you can use our internal messaging system. Here's how:

1. Head to the submissions page on your account

2. Find the submission you'd like to message the researcher about, and click the envelope button, as below:

3. You will be shown a contact researcher pop up box. You can choose a category for your query, then type your message in the box below, and press Send.

When a response is provided by a researcher, you can locate this by clicking on the messages tab:

Here, you'll see your messages to the researcher, and you'll be able to communicate with the researcher to resolve any queries you may have:
