Who can participate in studies on Prolific?

To be a participant on Prolific, you must be over 18 years of age and create and verify an account. Read more about our verification practices here: How do I verify my account?

Please note we don't allow researchers to run studies with children as participants. If you come across a study recruiting children participants, please get in touch with our Support Team using the button at the bottom of this page.

Prolific is available for participants from most OECD countries, with the exceptions of Turkey, Lithuania, and Costa Rica where Prolific is not available.

Prolific is currently also available to participants in Croatia. The full list of countries can be found below:

If you are from an unsupported country but live in one of the supported countries listed above, you can still join Prolific.

Can I join or use Prolific if I am not in one of the above supported countries?
If your country isn’t supported, you can join our waitlist. We can’t guarantee access, but we may contact you if opportunities open up and your profile matches our needs.
