Can I refer a friend?
The "Refer a Friend" button only appears to participants who are currently eligible to make referrals.
If you're eligible to refer someone, you'll see a pink "Refer a Friend" button at the top of the Prolific toolbar when you're logged in.
To keep access to studies fair, we enable referrals based on researcher demand—so be sure to check Prolific regularly for updates!
How does it work?
Clicking the "Refer a Friend" button takes you to the referral stage, where you'll see the referral criteria—for example, "Current Country of Residence: France".
You can enter the email addresses of people who meet these criteria, separating multiple addresses with commas.
Your referred contacts will receive an email with a link to sign up for Prolific.
Once a referred participant successfully completes the required number of studies, you'll receive your reward in your Prolific account balance.

I haven’t received my referral payment
To receive payment, your referrals' studies must be approved first. Their submissions may still be under review. If you're sure they've met the payment criteria but haven't received your reward, please contact support using the link below.
Can I refer my partner to join partner studies?
If you're eligible for referrals and your partner meets the referral criteria, you can refer your partner. If you're not eligible for referrals, your partner will need to join the waitlist and wait for an invitation to register.
