Why aren't I receiving any studies?

In most cases, a lack of studies can be explained by availability and eligibility:

(1) No studies are currently available. Researchers typically launch studies during their working hours, making weekends and holidays quieter periods.

or

(2) You don't meet the eligibility criteria for currently active studies (studies may have specific requirements - for example, university students from France aged 20–30).

It is unlikely there is anything wrong with your account unless you have:

  1. Participated in a study and received an error code
  2. Attempted to log in and have been notified that your account is on hold
  3. A limited-access participant account

We also try to make study distribution fair so that participants get an equal chance to take part. If you've completed many studies recently, you may receive fewer study invitations for a brief period.

If none of these apply, the reason is likely that either no studies are currently available or you don't meet the eligibility criteria for active studies.

What can I do to receive more studies?

  1. To maximize your chances of receiving studies, make sure your About You questions are complete and kept up to date.
  2. Avoid using VPNs, private relays, or similar services while using Prolific. If you're having trouble seeing studies, try switching to a different browser, device, or internet connection - this may help if there is a flag on your IP.
  3. If you signed up as a limited participant, you’ll have received information about how many studies to expect upon signing up. Prolific will notify you of any changes, and all studies you can access will appear in your studies list.

If your account is in good standing, it’ll simply be a case of waiting for new studies to become available.
