Your Account page provides access to your personal details, payment information, and account settings. To find it, click the profile icon with your initials at the top of the page when you're logged in.
Your Details
This section displays your personal details that you provided during account registration, including:
Name
Date of birth
Country of birth
Place of birth
Email
Phone
Residential address
You can edit your name, email, phone number, and residential address directly from your Account page, click the "Edit" button next to the information you wish to update. We cannot change the date of birth, so please make sure you enter this accurately on registration.
Please note: if you update your country of residence or address, you may be asked to re-verify your account.
Payment Methods
This section shows the PayPal email address where your Prolific payments will be sent. To change your PayPal address, click the "Edit" button next to it. See How do I update my cash out email? for more.
Account
From the Account section, you can:
View your Prolific ID number: your unique identifier for studies, which connects your submissions to your account. If a researcher asks for your Prolific ID in a message, you'll find it here
Update your password: request a password reset email here, or update your password from the login page
Manage your multi-factor authentication: MFA provides an additional security layer for your account during login, you can toggle it on or off here. See Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for more
Close your account: permanently close your Prolific account here. Once closed, you won't be able to reopen or recover it. See How do I close my account? for more
