What will be affected?
Cash-outs: The cash-out option will be unavailable for the whole window.
Linking PayPal: If you’re new to the platform, you won’t be able to link your PayPal account during this time.
What do I need to do?
If you need to cash out, do so before the maintenance starts or wait until it has finished.
If you’re registering as a new participant, you can still sign up, but please wait until maintenance is complete to link your PayPal account.
You don’t need to take any other action. Cash-outs and PayPal linking will return to normal automatically once maintenance ends.
Will my balance be affected?
No, your balance is safe and won’t change because of this maintenance. When researchers approve your submissions, the reward will land in your Prolific balance as normal.
The only difference is that you can’t cash out from 20:00 UTC on Saturday, October 17 to 08:00 UTC on Sunday, October 18. You can cash out again once the maintenance ends.
How will I know when it’s finished?
Cash-outs will become available again at the end of the window. If you still can’t cash out after the window has passed, please contact our Support team using the icon at the bottom right of the page.
