Does my phone number need to correspond to my country of residence?

Updated this week

Your phone number will usually need to correspond to your country of residence to allow us to verify your account. There are some exceptions to this:

  • If your country of residence is the US or Canada, you will need to provide a phone number from either the US or Canada

  • If your country of residence is the UK or Ireland, you will need to provide a phone number from the UK or Ireland

  • If your country of residence is anywhere else in our accepted country list, you will need to provide a phone number from the same continent as your country of residence, and the number needs to be from a country which is also on our accepted country list

You can read more about verifying your phone number, and your account in general, here.
